Books & Beers in the Barn

March 10 @ 12:00 pm

The Farm and Taproom will be open from 12-7pm on Sunday, March 10.  And from 12-4pm we are repeating our one-of-a-kind special event from 2023!  We are excited for the return of Backwater Books for an event geared for all ages… Books & Beers in the Barn!  Adults and children can browse the vast selection of new books, fun gifts, and more as we transform our Private Event Barn into a bookstore (with adult and children books).  Adults can enjoy a farm brewed beer (or seltzer) while they shop.

Backwater Books is an independent bookstore in Old Ellicott City (neighbors of Manor Hill Tavern). Started by former teachers Alli and Matt Krist in 2022, Backwater Books carries a variety of titles for young and old. We look forward to having them back on the farm!

(please note that parents must remain with their children at all times, this is not a drop off event).

~~~~~~~~
The Farm & Taproom are open from 12-7pm. We will have 13 farm-brewed beers (+ our hard seltzer) on draught and multiple options in cans available to go.  All seating on the Farm is first come, first served.  We have indoor seating, a large covered tent, and plenty of outdoor space to spread out. There are several picnic tables in our field, but we also encourage you to bring your own chairs or even a portable (10×10) pop-up tent for shade and find your new favorite spot with friends.
Mr Soft Ice Cream Truck will be on site to serve the kids (and adults)!
Manor Hill Pizza Trolleywill be open All Weekend!
(please note the Pizza Trolley may close one hour before farm closes.)
INFO ON VISITING THE FARM
While visiting the farm, be sure to check out our agriculture in action.  Our award-winning beers may be our most well-known agricultural product, but our 54-acre working farm has so much more to offer.  In fact, the majority of our land is used for agriculture… so you can’t miss it no matter where you are on the farm!
As you enter the farm, on the right side of the driveway, you will see 14 acres of non-GMO corn. Every single beer brewed at Manor Hill uses this corn in its recipe.  On the left side of the driveway as you enter you will see our 12-acre cow pasture where we host about 20-25 Black Angus Cattle on the farm from Spring to Fall (there is an additional cattle pasture behind the residence).  Directly behind our Taproom, we have a coop with one rooster (Elvis) and approximately 30 egg-laying hens.  Next to our chicken coop is our goat enclosure featuring Mary and Gilbert, a mother and son set of Pygmy Goats.  Last, but certainly not least, is our array of gardens on the farm that produce various vegetables, fruits, and herbs used in our beer, Trolley pizza, and at our restaurants.  Informational signs on the property as well as our staff can answer any questions you have during your visit.
