Brews and Bulbs with Howard County
May 1, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Howard County Office of Community Sustainability is hosting a first-ever Brews and Bulbs lightbulb exchange event at Manor Hill Brewing on May 1st from 12-3pm! Howard County residents are encouraged to bring in their Incandescent and/or CFL bulbs and trade them out for energy-efficient LED bulbs at no cost, all while enjoying a brew!
While at the farm, see our agriculture in action (chickens, goats, crops, and more), learn about our award-winning farm-brewed beers, and the benefits of LEDs. As a consumer LEDs have many benefits: Reduced Electricity Bill, Reduced Carbon Footprint, Longer Lasting, and Environmentally Friendliness. As a farm, LEDs also have many agricultural benefits. In addition to those above, we experience Lower Heat Emissions, Increased Production for Poultry, and Increased Plant Growth!
Howard County Government will only have ONE type of LED bulb, provided by BGE: a standard pear-shaped LED bulb, 9 Watts (60-Watt equivalent), soft white at 2700K, and 800 lumens. Residents can bring in as many bulbs as they like but will be limited to four new LED bulbs. The County will properly dispose of all bulbs traded-in. CFL bulbs contain small amounts of mercury.
Our FARM & TASTING ROOM will be open 12-7pm with 13 farm-brewed beers (& a hard seltzer) on draught and multiple options in cans available to go.
Our repurposed and restored PIZZA TROLLEY from Old Ellicott City will be offering 10″ Neapolitan-style pizzas baked in our custom-built brick oven from 12–6pm.
Note that our Pizza Trolley & other food trucks may close one hour before the farm closes. Please check back regularly as this schedule can change as the date approaches.
