Gentle Giants Horse Rescue at Manor Hill

April 12 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue is returning to Manor Hill this spring for our Howard County Farm + Farm Collaboration Day!  And it also happens to coincide with our Euro Series Kickoff / Kolsch Release… what a perfect combination.  This one-of-a-kind event will feature:

Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue on site from 12-4pm with friendly horses for petting & pictures. Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue is a 501c(3) Equine Welfare Organization, located in Mount Airy, committed to saving draft and draft cross horses from slaughter, abuse, and neglect.  Learn about and contribute to their mission.  More info below on the ambassador horses that will be visiting that day!

Tasting Room will have 13 farm-brewed beers (+ our hard seltzer) onand multiple options in cans available to go!  Specifically, our Katherine’s Kolsch will be available for the first time this weekend.  Join us to celebrate the 2024 launch of Manor Hill’s European Series of classically-inspired beers.

Manor Hill Pizza Trolley will be open all weekend serving brick-oven Neapolitan-style pizzas, salads, snacks, and more.

The Farm will be open from 12-7pm with first come, first served seating.  We have indoor seating, a large covered tent, and plenty of outdoor space to spread out. There are several picnic tables in our field, but we also encourage you to bring your own chairs or even a portable (10×10) pop-up tent for shade and find your new favorite spot with friends.

INFO ON VISITING THE FARM

While visiting the farm, be sure to check out our agriculture in action.  Our award-winning beers may be our most well-known agricultural product, but our 54-acre working farm has so much more to offer.  In fact, the majority of our land is used for agriculture… so you can’t miss it no matter where you are on the farm!

As you enter the farm, on the right side of the driveway, you will see 14 acres of non-GMO corn. Every single beer brewed at Manor Hill uses this corn in its recipe.  On the left side of the driveway as you enter you will see our 12-acre cow pasture where we host about 20-25 Black Angus Cattle on the farm from Spring to Fall (there is an additional cattle pasture behind the residence).  Directly behind our Taproom, we have a coop with one rooster (Elvis) and approximately 30 egg-laying hens.  Next to our chicken coop is our goat enclosure featuring Mary and Gilbert, a mother and son set of Pygmy Goats.  Last, but certainly not least, is our array of gardens on the farm that produce various vegetables, fruits, and herbs used in our beer, Trolley pizza, and at our restaurants.  Informational signs on the property as well as our staff can answer any questions you have during your visit.
