FIRST FRIDAY RELEASE: My Own Murder

October 4, 2024 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

October 4th is FIRST FRIDAY, so we are releasing a new beer! It’s the return of MY OWN MURDER.

Returning just in time for Spooky Season is our Black IPA.  Named for the eerie and ominous band of crows who inhabit the farm, this brew takes inspiration from the classic cold weather treat, the chocolate orange, we added Ecuadorian cacao nibs in the mash and sweet orange peel in the boil. And for an extra citrus kick, we double dry hopped it with Mandarina Bavaria, Simcoe, and Columbus hops. The final beer pours opaque black with notes of dark chocolate and cocoa, followed by a touch of orange in the finish. The only trick to this incredibly drinkable treat is how well it disguises the 6.7% ABV.

The Farm & Taproom will be open all weekend (Friday 4-9pm, Saturday 12-7pm, and Sunday 12-7pm) with 13 farm-brewed beers (+ our hard seltzer) on draught and multiple options in cans available to go.  All seating on the Farm is first come, first served.  We have indoor seating, a large covered tent, and plenty of outdoor space to spread out. There are several picnic tables in our field, but we also encourage you to bring your own chairs or even a portable (10×10) pop-up tent for shade and find your new favorite spot with friends. (if you bring a tent, don’t forget the weights/stakes).

Manor Hill Pizza Trolley will be open all weekend!
(please note the Pizza Trolley may close one hour before farm closes.)

INFO ON VISITING THE FARM

While visiting the farm, be sure to check out our agriculture in action.  Our award-winning beers may be our most well-known agricultural product, but our 54-acre working farm has so much more to offer.  In fact, the majority of our land is used for agriculture… so you can’t miss it no matter where you are on the farm!

As you enter the farm, on the right side of the driveway, you will see 14 acres of non-GMO corn. Every single beer brewed at Manor Hill uses this corn in its recipe.  On the left side of the driveway as you enter you will see our 12-acre cow pasture where we host about 20-25 Black Angus Cattle on the farm from Spring to Fall (there is an additional cattle pasture behind the residence).  Directly behind our Taproom, we have a coop with one rooster (Elvis) and approximately 30 egg-laying hens.  Next to our chicken coop is our goat enclosure featuring Mary and Gilbert, a mother and son set of Pygmy Goats.  Last, but certainly not least, is our array of gardens on the farm that produce various vegetables, fruits, and herbs used in our beer, Trolley pizza, and at our restaurants.  Informational signs on the property as well as our staff can answer any questions you have during your visit.
